Physician Informaticist | About You

As a Physician Informaticist, you are responsible for designing and implementing clinical decision support rules, alerts, and guidelines within the electronic health record (EHR) system to assist the healthcare providers in delivering evidence-based care. You will act as a liaison between healthcare providers, clinical staff, and IT teams. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the effective use of healthcare information systems, EHRs, and clinical decision support tools to enhance patient care and safety.

Physician Informaticist | Day-to-Day

  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate, configure, and optimize clinical systems, including EHRs, to meet the needs of healthcare providers and clinical staff.
  • Ensure interoperability and seamless data exchange between different healthcare systems.
  • Analyze healthcare data to identify areas for quality improvement and patient safety enhancements.
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to improve clinical outcomes and patient care processes.
  • Utilize healthcare analytics tools to extract meaningful insights from clinical data.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support clinical and administrative decision-making.

Physician Informaticist | Skills & Experience

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) and active medical licensure.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in a medical specialty.
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare informatics, clinical informatics, or medical informatics.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (Cerner) and health information exchange (HIE).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and Meaningful Use.
