Cerner Integration Specialist | About You
As a Cerner Integration Specialist, you are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations between healthcare systems, ensuring seamless data exchange and interoperability. Your knowledge of SMART on FHIR, Cerner platforms, and HL7v2 messaging will be essential in building robust and efficient integration solutions.

Cerner Integration Specialist | Day-to-Day

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including clinicians, software engineers, and data analysts to understand integration requirements and healthcare workflows.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy integration solutions using SMART on FHIR and HL7v2 standards to facilitate data exchange between different healthcare systems.
  • Utilize your expertise in Cerner platforms to integrate third-party applications and data sources effectively.
  • Implement error handling and logging mechanisms to ensure data integrity and availability in integration processes.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure that data exchange adheres to HIPAA and other regulatory standards.

Cerner Integration Specialist | Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience as an Integration Developer with a strong focus on SMART on FHIR, Cerner solutions, and HL7v2 messaging.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, including SMART on FHIR and HL7v2.
  • Experience working with Cerner platforms, including Millennium or other Cerner applications.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems, clinical workflows, and healthcare data exchange processes.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and data transformation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and documentation.
