Nurse Informaticist | About You
As a Nurse Informaticist, you are responsible for optimizing healthcare technology to enhance nursing practice, patient care, and safety. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the effective use of healthcare information systems, electronic health records (EHRs), and clinical decision support tools.
Nurse Informaticist | Day-to-Day
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate, configure, and optimize clinical systems, including EHRs, from a nursing perspective.
Ensure interoperability and seamless data exchange between different healthcare systems.
Design and implement clinical decision support rules, alerts, and guidelines within EHR systems to assist nursing staff in delivering evidence-based care.
Develop and implement data-driven strategies to improve clinical outcomes and nursing care processes.
Utilize healthcare analytics tools to extract meaningful insights from clinical data, especially data relevant to nursing care.
Nurse Informaticist | Skills & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher nursing degree.
Active nursing license and clinical experience as a nurse.
Certification in Nursing Informatics (e.g., ANCC Nursing Informatics Certification).
Demonstrated experience in nursing informatics or clinical informatics.
Familiarity with EHR systems (Cerner) and health information exchange (HIE) from a nursing perspective.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and Meaningful Use, as they relate to nursing practice.
