Strategic Data Manager | About You
As a Strategic Data Manager, you are responsible for developing and leading data strategies, overseeing data governance, managing data architecture, and driving data-driven decision-making processes. You will assess current data capabilities, develop a comprehensive data roadmap, and collaborate with business users to ensure alignment and deliver high-quality data and information at scale to a wide variety of clients and industries. You are a strategic thinker who understands the impact that data quality can have on advancing an organization’s BI maturity, and you find excitement in building enterprise solutions to achieve an integrated data strategy.
Strategic Data Manager | Day-to-Day
Develop and implement data governance policies, strategies, and standards to uphold data quality, integrity, security, and compliance.
Create and maintain a comprehensive data roadmap, detailing key initiatives, timelines, and milestones to guide strategic planning.
Serve as a bridge between technical teams and business users, ensuring alignment of data initiatives with business requirements.
Design and execute training programs and communication plans to facilitate understanding and adoption of data initiatives across various clients.
Analyze problems and opportunities, leveraging stakeholder information, to evaluate alternatives and assess their impact on business objectives.
Lead data analysis efforts utilizing tools such as data mining, predictive analytics, and business intelligence to extract insights and drive informed decision-making processes for projects, teams, and clients.
Strategic Data Manager | Skills & Experience
7+ years of progressive experience in data management, data strategy, solution design, or related fields, with a focus on engaging stakeholders and driving projects forward.
Proven experience developing and executing data strategies and roadmaps.
Skilled in utilizing relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), data warehousing solutions (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Snowflake), and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
Solid experience interacting with business stakeholders to gather requirements, operationalize data planning, and establish adoption processes.
Proven ability in leading Organizational Change Management (OCM) initiatives to drive successful transitions.
Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau), enabling extraction of actionable insights.
