Sr. Business Analyst | About You

As a Sr. Business Analyst, you are responsible for understanding how the business interacts with data to curate and deliver data and visualization solutions that will enhance business objectives. You will collaborate with partners to design potential solutions that will assist the consumer in making data-driven decisions. You will act as the business requirements expert related to data visualizations and reporting needs, and work to interpret, improve, and build consumable data solutions for the business. You have a knack for data visualization, a passion for diving deep into data, and an ability to facilitate and analyze complex requirements to assist others in solution design and development.

Sr. Business Analyst | Day-to-Day

  • Solicit, define, and analyze essential business requirements to transform those business needs into user stories through visualization or consumable data.
  • Assess processes, determine requirements, and deliver data-driven recommendations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and create effective data visualizations that support business needs and promote problem-solving throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate numerous data sources while integrating advanced sets into consumable data or visualizations.
  • Evaluate and improve existing reporting dashboards, as well as collaborate with teams within the business to integrate new improvements to streamline workflow and reporting processes.
  • Establish best practices that help end users leverage BI solutions to access and analyze data in data warehouses, data marts, and operational systems.

Sr. Business Analyst | Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of progressive experience within Data Analytics, Information Management, Business Analytics, Business Process, Data Governance, or similar areas.
  • Ideally - you will have 3 years of experience focused on Data Visualization and Requirements Gathering/Analysis.
  • Experience with Tableau or other leading BI tools such as Power BI, Looker, QlikView, or Alteryx, and ideally, you have worked with at least two modern BI tools.
  • Ability to effectively tell stories and create actionable insights.
  • Experienced tuning SQL statements, Stored Procedures, SSIS, Power Query, and DAX.
  • Background in Process and Workflow design, information modeling, as well understanding of how applications/systems are integrated with one another is ideal.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry such as Insurance, Healthcare, Finance, etc. is a bonus!
